Staff responsibilities

The Senior Media Consultant is responsible for developing detailed plans for prospective and existing clients, ensuring a strong focus on client requirements. They have primary account management responsibilities, prioritising clear & accurate communication, while taking on campaign management and media trading duties across platforms. The post holder is also required to deliver some technical elements including dynamic creative production.

Summary of position

Xelsion works with advertisers and publishers directly, offering 4 core areas of digital media services:

  • Consultancy and training on media strategy, data activation, vendor selection, technology integration and in-house resourcing
  • Programmatic and biddable media trading across Display (desktop/mobile), Paid Social (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and emerging platforms) and Paid Search (SEM).
  • Analytics and data-driven attribution-modelling.
  • Creative production of high-impact, dynamic, cross-device compatible, HTML5 formats.
  • We are looking for an exceptional candidate to join our small team who will play an active role in the sales process, by working to understand client requirements, in order to create detailed, bespoke plans covering all areas of our service provision. The Senior Media Consultant must keep abreast with the latest industry developments in order to provide informed consultancy to prospective and current clients and speak with confidence in sales pitches and client meetings.

    A key focus of the role will be on account management, which involves plan implementation and campaign management & optimisation to help provide a cross-platform, unified customer view for our clients and ensure all objectives are met. We place a strong emphasis on great communication and so the ability to present data in a clear and meaningful way for the client is essential. Advanced knowledge of Excel and data visualization tools such as Power BI would therefore be an advantage. The post holder will also be required to undertake creative production tasks from time to time and so an understanding of HTML5 and Doubleclick Studio is desirable.

    Xelsion has traditionally been a buy-side specialist but has a growing revenue stream working with publishers on the sell-side to help them sell inventory programmatically. Familiarity with the sell-side, including publisher adservers, Google Adx, header-bidding and yield optimization are a plus.

    The Senior Media Consultant will contribute to the development and maintenance of marketing and promotional material, including Xelsion website content and as a young digital business with innovation at its core, entrepreneurial input is welcome along with ideas for growing the business and implementing new processes.

    The Media Analyst will take responsibility for the detailed analysis and reporting of client advertising campaigns and Xelsion performance, with the key objective of spotting trends and patterns in the data and acting on these to improve key metrics.

    Xelsion works with advertisers and publishers directly, offering 4 core areas of digital media services:

  • Programmatic and biddable media trading across Display, Paid Social and Paid Search (SEM).
  • Analytics and data-driven attribution-modelling.
  • Creative production of high-impact, dynamic, cross-device compatible, HTML5 formats.
  • Consultancy and training on media strategy, data activation, vendor selection, technology integration and in-house resourcing
  • The Media Analyst will collate data from a variety of systems and perform detailed analysis on the data before preparing reports to communicate the findings to colleagues and clients.

    Current data analysis is done using excel workbooks and R, which is suitable in the short term, but given the quantity of data that is available for analysis, Xelsion is constantly evaluating 3rd party statistical analysis software, and will be looking for the Media Analyst to lead the tender process and selection of these software packages.

    The role reports directly to the Head of Media who will rely on data analysis and recommendations from the Media Analyst to negotiate deals and oversee all partnerships with media suppliers and advertisers.

The role will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, in the UK and globally, and securing the business with the support of the Media Consultant.

    The SEM Consultant is responsible for carrying out detailed SEM audits and developing plans for prospective and existing clients, ensuring a strong focus on client requirements. They will take the lead on advising clients and colleagues on search strategies as well as implementing and managing campaigns. They will also take on account and campaign management duties across other channels and platforms under Xelsion’s remit, prioritising clear and accurate communication.

    Summary of position

    Xelsion is a digital media practice offering 4 core areas of services to clients: Programmatic media buying; Analytics and data-driven attribution-modelling; Creative design & production; and Consultancy on media strategy, ad technologies and marketing digitisation.

    The SEM Consultant will be responsible for undertaking detailed audits of client marketing and media activities in order to fully understand client requirements. This will enable them to recommend appropriate media strategies across all channels, contributing particular expertise in SEM. The Consultant will produce detailed media plans and manage these through the lifecycle of the agreement ensuring campaigns are optimized for best results whilst maintaining clear communication with the client to ensure objectives are met. Xelsion has a strong focus on data driven analysis so the post holder will be required to work extensively with Excel, with the support of more specialised analysts.

    The SEM Consultant will establish themselves as the recognised SEM expert within the company, they will be responsible for defining strategy and technology requirements for Xelsion’s SEM workstream, ensuring our service offerings are up to date with the latest industry developments. As well as this they will be required to develop detailed frameworks to consolidate knowledge and facilitate the training of colleagues in SEM best practice.
