Staff responsibilities

The Media Consultant is responsible for developing detailed plans for prospective and existing clients, ensuring a strong focus on client requirements as detailed by the New Business Manager or by current clients directly. The Media Consultant has primary account management responsibilities, prioritising clear and accurate communication, while taking on campaign management duties across platforms.

Summary of position

Xelsion works with advertisers and publishers directly, offering 4 core areas of digital media services:

  • Programmatic and biddable media trading across Display, Paid Social and Paid Search (SEM).
  • Analytics and data-driven attribution-modelling.
  • Creative production of high-impact, dynamic, cross-device compatible, HTML5 formats.
  • Consultancy and training on media strategy, data activation, vendor selection, technology integration and in-house resourcing
  • The Media Consultant will play an active role in the sales process as they are responsible for understanding client requirements, whether from a brief provided by the New Business Consultant or from requirements submitted by existing clients, in order to create detailed, bespoke plans. Once a plan has been signed off, the Media Consultant will move to an account management role, which will involve plan implementation, campaign management duties (with detailed analytics support from the Media Analyst) to ensure campaigns are optimised for the best results, whilst ensuring that a strong focus is kept on clear communication with the client to ensure objectives are met.

    The Media Consultant will also contribute to the development and maintenance of marketing and promotional material, including Xelsion website content.

    The role reports directly to the Head of Media who will rely on recommendations from the Media Consultant to negotiate agreements and oversee all client partnerships.

    The company has a digitally connected, geographically distributed team, which collaborates with the help of technology. Permanent desk space and the hub of operations is in a dynamic start up co-working environment in Farringdon, London but candidates should also be comfortable, motivated and happy working from home – or wherever they happen to be.

    Essential Desirable
    Qualifications & training 2.1 from reputable university Google Adwords qualified
    Experience Digital media, relationship management, media planning, basic finance, working and communicating as part of a team
    Qualities and attitude Passion for digital, numerate, logical, rigorous, professional, open, flexible, patient Entrepreneurial, innovative, creative
    Product knowledge MS Office suite Google DoubleClick products, AppNexus, Facebook interface/ trading tools, Google Adwords, Bing, LinkedIn Advertising, WordPress, HTML, CSS, Javascript, design, statistics
